from Rev Chris Stebbing
It is with much regret that I have to announce that, following advice from the Archbishops and the Baptist Union, and in light of recent government guidance, public worship is suspended at St. Luke’s Church, Lodge Moor.
This includes our mid-week and evening services as well as Sunday Morning worship. Barbara Andrews’ Thanksgiving service this Thursday will be our last act of worship for the current time. Our youth and children’s work is also suspended. For a statement from the Archbishops, please click here.
Our Church worship services will cease for a time, but the Church is a community of people, led by Christ, and not a building or an activity. I know that you will continue to pray, to find ways to engage with God, to maintain fellowship (possibly over the phone) and to serve our local community in these coming days. As opportunities arise to serve and to connect with Church in new ways, we will make you aware of them through these channels.
Please pray for all of our community as we move into this new challenge together under Jesus Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Rev Chris Stebbing
